FFL Transfers
Faith First Firearms is a licensed FFL that can receive firearms on your behalf when you buy online or from another dealer. We handle transfers by appointment only — giving every customer privacy, compliance, and dedicated service from shipment through lawful pickup.
Contact Us Before You Ship or Order
Before a firearm is shipped to us, contact both the sending dealer and Faith First Firearms to confirm we are currently accepting your transfer. Doing this first avoids delays and returned shipments. Call 512-655-9641 or email admin@faithfirstfirearms.com.
What an FFL Transfer Is
Federal law requires that most firearms purchased online or shipped between states be sent to a licensed dealer (an FFL) for pickup, rather than directly to your home. As your receiving FFL, Faith First Firearms accepts the shipment, records it as required, verifies your eligibility, and completes the transfer to you in person.
When you buy from another retailer or individual, that seller — not Faith First Firearms — is the party selling you the firearm. Our role is to lawfully receive the firearm and complete the transfer.
Who This Service Is For
Our transfer service is commonly used by:
- Customers who purchased a firearm online and need a licensed dealer to receive it
- Customers receiving a firearm shipped from another dealer
- Anyone who needs an appointment-based receiving FFL in Central Texas
Faith First Firearms does not routinely accept firearm shipments from private individuals. A private-party shipment may be considered only when approved by Faith First Firearms before shipment and when the sender, firearm, documentation, shipping method, and proposed transfer satisfy all applicable requirements. Do not ship a firearm until written acceptance instructions have been provided.
Interstate transfers remain subject to applicable federal and state requirements, and Faith First Firearms must review the sending party, recipient, firearm, documentation, and transaction before confirming acceptance. Estate, executor, inheritance, and trust questions should be directed to a consultation. Please contact us before anything is shipped or delivered so we can confirm whether we are able to accept your particular transaction.
How the Transfer Process Works
Please do not travel to pick up a firearm until we have contacted you to confirm it has arrived and been logged.
- Confirm we will accept the transferContact Faith First Firearms (and your sending dealer) to confirm we are currently accepting your transfer before anything ships.
- Your seller receives our FFL informationOnce confirmed, we provide our FFL and business information. Firearms must ship from a licensed dealer using Faith First Firearms as the business name and our FFL address.
- The shipment arrives and is loggedWhen your firearm arrives, we inspect it and enter it into our required records.
- We contact you when it is readyWe notify you once the firearm is logged and ready. Please wait for this confirmation before scheduling your pickup.
- Attend your scheduled appointmentRequest and attend a transfer appointment. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID and any supporting documents.
- Complete paperwork and background checkComplete ATF Form 4473 on-site and pass a NICS background check.
- Lawful pickupThe firearm is released only on an official “Proceed,” once all paperwork and payment are complete.
What to Bring & Who Can Receive
Customers must present valid government-issued photo identification that satisfies applicable transfer requirements. If the identification does not display the customer’s current residence address or complete legal name, acceptable supplemental government-issued documentation may be required. Contact Faith First Firearms before scheduling when your identification does not show your current information.
- A valid, government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport)
- Texas License to Carry (LTC) documentation, if applicable
- Any supplemental government-issued documentation we have asked you to provide
Age requirements: Handguns require you to be 21 or older; long guns (rifles and shotguns) require you to be 18 or older. You must be eligible under federal and Texas law to possess and receive the firearm, and all purchaser and recipient information must be accurate.
Estate, executor, inheritance, trust, and family-transfer questions should be directed to a consultation. Other questions about identification, residency, immigration status, or interstate moves may be directed to the appropriate agency, official resources, a qualified attorney, or to Faith First Firearms for direct review. Background Checks & ATF Form 4473
Under Faith First Firearms policy, we conduct a background check for every firearm transfer to an unlicensed customer, without exception. You will complete ATF Form 4473 in our presence, and we submit your information through the NICS background-check system. A response is returned as “Proceed,” “Delay,” “Denied,” or “Cancelled.”
- Faith First Firearms releases a firearm only after receiving a verified “Proceed” response.
- We do not use the passage of time alone as authorization to release a firearm.
- A “Denied” or “Cancelled” response prevents completion of the transfer.
- A “Delay” that remains unresolved for more than five business days will result in cancellation of the transaction under Faith First Firearms policy. This cancellation policy applies to every customer, including customers under 21.
This five-business-day cancellation practice is a Faith First Firearms business policy and is not a universal federal requirement. No firearm may be released to a customer without the verified “Proceed” response required by Faith First Firearms policy.
Transfer fees are non-refundable once processing has begun, subject to the signed transfer agreement. Storage, handling, and return-shipping costs remain the customer’s responsibility. Falsifying information on Form 4473 is a federal offense (18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(6)).
Transfer Fees & Payment
We keep transfers straightforward, affordable, and fair, and we offer discounted rates for those who serve and protect our communities. Discounts do not stack — only one discounted rate applies per transfer, and all discounts require valid proof of eligibility at pickup. The Texas License to Carry discount affects the transfer fee only and does not waive Faith First Firearms’ background-check policy.

Group and organizational transfers: Group, agency, church security, or organizational transfers must be coordinated and approved in advance. Depending on the number of firearms, scheduling requirements, documentation, and the terms of the agreement, Faith First Firearms may provide a written group quote. No group discount is guaranteed unless confirmed in writing before the firearms are shipped.
Payment: Faith First Firearms will send a PrecisionPay invoice for transfer and service payments. Payment is due at the time of service. Transfer fees are non-refundable once processing has begun, subject to the signed transfer agreement. Storage, handling, and return-shipping costs remain the customer’s responsibility.

Delays, Denials & Incomplete Transfers
We follow applicable law and Faith First Firearms policy on every transfer, and customers are responsible for providing accurate information.
- A background-check delay is not an approval. We cannot release a firearm on a delay, and the passage of time alone does not authorize release.
- A “Denied” or “Cancelled” response means the transfer cannot proceed and the firearm cannot be released.
- A delay that remains unresolved for more than five business days will result in cancellation of the transaction under Faith First Firearms policy. This applies to every customer, including customers under 21. Cancellation details also appear on the Request an Appointment page.
We do not provide legal advice about appealing a denial. If you have questions about a denial, you may contact the appropriate official process or agency.
Purchasing online, booking an appointment, or completing checkout does not constitute a determination that you are legally eligible to purchase, possess, or receive a firearm. Final transfer eligibility is determined through the legally required transfer process and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Where a transfer cannot be completed for a reason attributable to the purchaser, the purchaser is responsible for the actual applicable costs incurred. These may include return shipping, distributor or manufacturer restocking charges, receiving-FFL charges, processing expenses, and other non-refundable costs actually associated with the cancelled or returned transaction. Depending on the circumstances, the firearm is returned, cancelled, or otherwise dispositioned as appropriate. Faith First Firearms does not charge a separate background-check fee — the background check is part of the transfer process covered by the transfer fee. Any refund due is determined in accordance with our Refunds & Returns Policy and our Terms & Conditions, which control.
Shipping & Receiving
Please do not assume a firearm can be shipped directly to your home. Receiving information must be coordinated correctly, and the firearm must be accepted and processed by us before pickup.
- Confirm with Faith First Firearms that we will accept your particular transaction before it ships.
- Ship only from a licensed dealer, using Faith First Firearms as the business name and our FFL address (provided on request).
- Do not conceal or mislabel firearms; all shipments must follow federal law and carrier rules.
- Provide the tracking number as soon as the firearm ships.
- Shipping, inventory, distributor, and seller issues can all affect timing.
Appointment Expectations
Transfers are handled by appointment only. Please schedule your pickup only after we confirm your firearm has arrived and been logged. It helps to know which kind of appointment you need:
- Transfer appointment — to pick up a firearm that has shipped to us and been received.
- Firearm consultation — if you would like guidance choosing a firearm before you buy. Book a consultation instead.
- Training — for hands-on instruction, Texas LTC education, or range preparation, visit our sister brand First Shot Training.
Missed appointments and late cancellations: Transfer appointments require reserved time and compliance preparation. Missed appointments and cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment are charged the full applicable transfer fee. The missed or late-canceled appointment fee does not cover a later appointment. If a new appointment is scheduled, a new transfer fee will be due at the time of service, subject to availability and confirmation that the firearm is still eligible for pickup.
Items & Transactions We Do Not Accept
Faith First Firearms does not accept, sell, or transfer NFA-regulated items. Faith First Firearms does not hold an SOT and does not facilitate NFA transfers through partners. This is a Faith First Firearms business policy and is not a statement about the general legality of owning or transferring an NFA-regulated item.
We accept
- Transfers from verified, licensed dealers
- Firearms purchased online or from another retailer
- Lawful private-party or estate transfers we have agreed in advance to accept
We do not accept
- NFA items of any kind — suppressors, short-barreled rifles or shotguns, and machine guns
- Any other NFA-regulated transaction
- Shipments from unverified or noncompliant senders
Storage & Unclaimed Firearms
The first 30 calendar days of storage are included in your transfer fee. Our current policy is:
- First 30 calendar days: included in the transfer fee
- At 90 days: a firearm remaining unclaimed at 90 days becomes subject to the written unclaimed-firearm procedure
Unclaimed firearms will be handled under the signed customer agreement, applicable law, ATF recordkeeping requirements, and Faith First Firearms policy. The customer remains responsible for applicable storage, handling, and return-shipping costs.
Faith First Firearms will attempt to contact the customer using the contact information provided. Customers are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information and responding to pickup and policy notices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. All transfers are handled by appointment only. Contact us first to confirm we are accepting your transfer, then request an appointment once the firearm has arrived and been logged.
When should I schedule pickup?
Only after we confirm your firearm has been received and entered into our records. Please do not arrive before you receive that confirmation.
What identification should I bring?

Can someone else pick up the firearm for me?
