Faith First Firearms is committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of how we understand responsibility: if someone cannot use this site, we have not served them.
Our standard
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG is the internationally recognised standard for accessible web content.
We do not claim ADA certification, and we do not claim full conformance. No such certification exists for websites, and we would rather tell you where we are than overstate it. This page describes what we have actually implemented and what we are still working on.
How we approach accessibility
We build accessibility into the site itself rather than layering an accessibility overlay or widget on top of it. Overlay tools often interfere with the screen readers, magnifiers, and browser settings that people already use and trust. We removed the overlay that was previously installed on this site and replaced it with direct improvements to the pages themselves.
What we have implemented
- Visible keyboard focus. A consistent, high-contrast focus indicator is applied site-wide so keyboard users can always see where they are, across the different background treatments used on the site.
- Skip navigation. A working “skip to content” link lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass the header and go straight to the main content.
- Semantic structure. Pages use real headings, lists, and landmark regions so assistive technology can navigate them predictably.
- Labelled forms. Every form field has an associated label, required fields and consent checkboxes are marked programmatically, and we avoid duplicate element IDs that confuse screen readers.
- Meaningful alternative text. Images that carry information have descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are marked as decorative so they are skipped rather than announced.
- Responsive layouts. Pages are usable down to a 320-pixel viewport width and reflow without horizontal scrolling.
- Reduced motion. Where motion is used, we respect the operating-system “reduce motion” preference.
- No accessibility overlay. Your own assistive technology stays in control.
Known limitations
We want to be straightforward about the areas we are still working on:
- Some product listings and product images are supplied by our distributors. Their titles, descriptions, and images are not always written to our accessibility standard, and we do not control that source data.
- Colour contrast on a small number of text-over-image treatments is still being measured and corrected.
- Third-party components used for checkout and payment are not fully under our control. We test them, but we cannot guarantee their conformance.
- Some older blog content predates this standard and is being reviewed.
Assessment approach
We evaluate this site through a combination of automated testing, manual keyboard-only testing, and manual screen-reader testing. Automated tools alone catch only a portion of accessibility problems, so manual review is part of our process rather than an optional extra.
Tell us if something does not work
If you run into a barrier on this site — anything you cannot read, reach, or operate — please tell us. Reports from real users are the most useful information we get, and we would rather hear about a problem than have you leave.
Email: admin@faithfirstfirearms.com
Please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology or browser you were using, if you know it. We aim to respond within three to five business days.
If you would prefer to complete a purchase, a transfer, or a service request with a person rather than through the website, contact us and we will help you directly by appointment.
Ongoing commitment
Accessibility is not a one-time project. As we add pages and features, we test them, and we update this statement as our implementation and our known limitations change.
